The PCT (II) Program (220 HOURS)
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) II program of 220 instruction hours has been designed to advance the skills of the Certified Nurses Aide. Classroom hours will provide information on how to perform EKG’s and monitor medical conditions associated with this procedure, Medical Terminology, the skills needed to perform blood draws, skin puncture techniques, collection procedures, as well as legal and ethical issues.

Make-up Policy
Students with no more than 24 absent hours will be allowed to make-up hours at the convenience of the instructor and the schools scheduling availability. If a student has more than 24 absent hours the student will be required to pay $15.00 for each additional hour of make-up time before returning to class. A doctor’s note will waive the fee.

Graduation Requirements
A DTC “Certificate of Completion” will be issued to the student upon fulfilled financial obligations and successful completion of the programs 220 hour components.

PCT National healthcareer association CertificatioN
Successful completion of our PCT II program prepares you to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certification Exam. Testing is available at our facility for a fee of $149.00 and is a privilege for students who attend all classes, obtain at least a 75% grade point average on all tests and make timely payments. At the discretion of the Director, students who achieve below 75% on a section will have the opportunity to retest no more than 3 times for each test section. In the event that a test date is cancelled, DTC will give the student as much notice as possible and will assist with rescheduling as dates become available. If arrangements are made for testing at our facility, and the student fails to attend the test date without proper notification or a Doctor’s note, DTC will not refund the $149.00 test fee. After passing the test, you will be issued with a NHA ID Card and Certificate.
